Identifying potential problems at the frame stage allows defects to be addressed early, before subsequent construction stages make them more difficult and expensive to rectify. At KBS Inspections, we understand the importance of the Lock-Up Stage in your new home construction. At this stage, the building is enclosed and protected from the elements, making it an important opportunity to identify defects before internal works progress. Our Lock-Up Stage Inspection assesses key components including external doors and windows, roofing, brickwork, external finishes, framing and other visible construction elements. We look for workmanship issues, defects, installation concerns and visible compliance matters that may require attention. Identifying problems at this stage can help prevent more costly repairs later in the build. Our detailed report, supported by photographs and clear recommendations, gives you greater confidence before construction moves to the next stage.

At KBS Inspections, our Stage 4 – Fixing Stage Inspection provides an important quality check during the installation of internal finishes and fit-outs, before the construction progresses to completion. At this stage, our inspectors assess visible workmanship and installation of key components including plasterboard, cabinetry, skirting boards, architraves, internal doors, wet-area finishes and other internal fixtures. We identify visible defects, installation issues and areas requiring attention while they can still be readily addressed by the builder. As your new home approaches completion, a Stage 5 – Practical Completion Inspection (PCI) is an important final check before taking possession. We identify incomplete, defective or poor-quality work that may require rectification by your builder before handover or settlement.
